We are thrilled to announce that our new Erasmus+ Sport project, “Waves of Inclusion,” has officially received approval! This 18-month initiative aims to promote social inclusion and well-being among refugee youth (ages 10–17), especially Ukrainian refugees, through the transformative power of water-based sports and mindfulness practices. Over six months, 40 refugee participants in Romania and Poland will engage in weekly mixed-group water sports activities alongside local youth, fostering trust, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Complementary mindfulness sessions will support emotional healing, trauma resilience, and self-regulation. A key outcome of the project will be an Open Educational Resource (OER)—a comprehensive guide on water-based sports and mindfulness practices—available in English, Romanian, Polish, and Greek. The OER will be shared widely online and through three local events, providing a practical tool for educators, trainers, and organizations across Europe to promote social inclusion and well-being. The “Waves of Inclusion” consortium brings together: 1. EULink Single Member P.C. as the Project Coordinator, 2. the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) – Department of Physical Education and Sport Science, Greece, 3. Asociatia Judeteana Sportul Pentru Toti Suceava (AJSPT Suceava), Romania and 4. Instytut Rozwoju Sportu i Edukacji (IRSIE), Poland. We can’t wait to make waves and create a lasting impact on the lives of refugee youth!
